Better Brighter Education Hub: TNB-Integrated Learning Solution (ILSAS) Transformation Journey Phase 2 (2017-2018)

Abstract

TNB Education Hub project is a TNB corporate-driven initiative to derive better value creation from its education-related entities, i.e., UNITEN (Universiti Tenaga Nasional), ILSAS, and LDC (Leadership Development Centre). The roadmap was built to accelerate ILSAS’s and UNITEN’s current transformation initiatives and at the same time to attain internal synergies between the three entities. TNB’s ambitions and capability need to grow, ILSAS should step back and evaluate its ability to meet TNB’s growing needs. Potential capability needs partnerships and acquisitions, product development, advanced data and analytics, field force (optimized supply chain), digital channels, sales effectiveness, government advocacy, and customer lifecycle management. From the Edu Hub initiatives with new roles and major changes, ILSAS can deliver training and operates from anything and everything, e.g., 800+ programs covering a wide range of skills and difficulty levels to focus on criticality and 200+ programs on strategically important content that business line cannot deliver. From financial aspects, around 40% of TNB’s training budget spent at ILSAS previously had increased to more than 50% of TNB’s with Edu Hub initiatives. Also, 30% loss-making and 12% canceled courses (within 30 days) had turned to zero.
